At our law firm, clients often come to us during some of the most challenging times of their lives. Through our scholarship program, we are proud to provide a financial award to a deserving student passionate about positively impacting families facing legal challenges.

Our Empowering Families Scholarship provides a $1,000 award each semester to an undergraduate student interested in becoming a family law attorney. Family law is unique, as it requires the balance of compassionate legal guidance with the aggressiveness needed to defend your clients through a potentially heartbreaking situation, such as a child custody battle or divorce.

Applications for this exciting scholarship opportunity must be submitted before 11:59 PM on February 12, 2025. Students should email us ereh for any questions or concerns.

Eligibility Criteria

Our team is happy to provide scholarships to students interested in pursuing a career in divorce and family law. Through your pursuit of a law degree, you are prepared to demonstrate that you are committed to Empowering Families by guiding them through the intricacies of the family law system in Texas.

Other requirements to be a candidate for our Spring 2025 Empowering Families Scholarship include:

You are maintaining a 3.5 GPA or higher.
You are an undergraduate student in a pre-law course of study.
You are currently or will be enrolled for the Spring 2025 semester.
You are a permanent resident of the United States.
You are at least 18 years old.

Requirements Criteria

In addition to a 90-second video essay, applicants must provide the following for their application to be considered:

Proof of undergraduate enrollment in a college or university.
Proof of a pre-law course of study.
Proof of GPA.

We ask all applicants to submit a 90-second video essay (Youtube Link must be provided) addressing the following prompt:

How will you use your legal education to positively impact families facing divorce or other family law challenges?

Evaluation Criteria

When selecting our winner, the following criteria will be considered:

Did the student meet each requirement listed above?
Did the student submit an authentic and precise response to the video essay prompt?
Is the student’s video essay well-focused and direct in answering the prompt?

We hope to select and notify our scholarship winner by March 12, 2025.
